The Missouri EMT-Basic examination consists of either a Medical or Trauma Assessment and up to three skills stations for the Initial Examination.

Important Exam Information
Your Test Time
You will receive an email the Monday before the examination with your scheduled test time. Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration.
Exam Results
Practical scores are provided to your EMT-B training facility or school and are posted for candidates by instructors or program coordinators when properly registered with NREMT.
Same-Day Retesting
Same-day retesting cannot be guaranteed. NIEMT will make every reasonable effort to provide same-day retesting when staffing, timing and examination conditions permit.
Testing Site Rules
- Candidates must present a valid picture ID at registration.
- Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the testing area. Please leave them in your vehicle or at home.
- Study materials and EMS-related materials are not permitted inside the testing site. An unrelated book or magazine is acceptable.
- After check-in, candidates may use the restroom or take a smoking break one at a time after checking with registration, when permitted by the testing facility.
- Clothing displaying a school or employer name or logo is not permitted during testing. Please wear casual clothing, a solid T-shirt or polo, or an appropriate EMS uniform without identifying school or employer branding.
Cancellation, Refund & Transfer Policy
Exam Cancellations
Exams are subject to cancellation due to insufficient enrollment or severe weather. If NIEMT cancels an examination, candidates will receive a refund or may transfer their payment to a future exam.
When possible, notice of cancellation due to insufficient enrollment will be provided approximately one week in advance. Weather-related cancellations may require shorter notice.
Candidate Cancellations
To receive a refund, you must cancel your registration at least one week before the examination.
NIEMT will not provide a refund once individual testing times have been scheduled.
Transfers
Registrations may be transferred to another examination one time when at least 72 hours' notice is provided.
Requests made with less than 72 hours' notice will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require documentation.
